Built from the inside of the industry
TroCymru was founded to solve a problem that the construction sector has tolerated for too long: waste that nobody tracks, carbon that nobody measures, and compliance that nobody can prove.
Built in Wales, for Welsh construction and housing.
Currently in pilot phase with selected partners across North Wales
Our Story
TroCymru grew out of a simple observation: the Welsh construction sector generates thousands of tonnes of waste every year from retrofit and new build programmes, yet almost none of it is tracked at source. Materials that could be reused or recycled end up in skips. Carbon savings that could be reported are lost. And when regulators or auditors ask for evidence, the answer is usually a spreadsheet estimate.
We set out to change that. Working directly with housing associations, contractors, and recycling partners across North Wales, we built a platform that captures material data at the point of strip-out — using QR codes, mobile devices, and GPS — and tracks it through to final destination. Every kilogram is weighed. Every journey is evidenced. Every carbon saving is calculated using published WRAP and ICE factors.
The result is a system that turns construction waste into auditable data: cost savings that procurement teams can verify, carbon reductions that ESG teams can report, and chain-of-custody evidence that satisfies NRW compliance requirements.
This is not waste management — it is data infrastructure for the circular economy.
“If it doesn’t work in a hi-vis vest, it doesn’t ship.”
What Drives Us
Mission
Make every kilogram of construction waste trackable, every carbon saving provable, and every compliance obligation auditable.
Approach
Data-led, site-driven. We build tools that work on real construction sites — not just in boardrooms.
Impact
Every material diverted from landfill reduces carbon, creates local community impact, and contributes to Wales’s circular economy targets.
Adnoddau — Welsh Resources for Wales
We believe Welsh resources (Adnoddau) should stay in Wales — supporting local supply chains, social enterprises, and communities rather than being lost to landfill or exported as waste.
What We Do
On-Site Waste Interception
We set up compound-level sorting and QR tracking at your construction sites, capturing materials at the point of strip-out before they reach a skip.
Real-Time Carbon Reporting
Every captured material generates an instant carbon calculation using WRAP/ICE factors — giving you live ESG data, not year-end estimates.
Chain-of-Custody Evidence
GPS-tagged, photo-evidenced tracking from site to recycling facility. Full audit trail for NRW compliance and fly-tipping prevention.
Cost Reduction
Reduce skip hire, avoid landfill tax, and generate measurable disposal cost savings that procurement teams can verify.
